Canada expect landmark victory over Red Roses - Apps
Scrum-half Olivia Apps believes the time is right for Canada to end England's four-year unbeaten run when the teams meet on Friday
Olivia Apps, captain of Canada's women's rugby team, faces disappointment after their match against England in Toronto. Last month's 26-26 draw at Sandy Park sparked a smirk from Apps, who shared it with England players Zoe Harrison, Jess Breach, and Marlie Packer. This smirk signified the belief that Canada could defeat England, a team England had not lost to in nearly four years.
However, the final whistle in the game proved disheartening for Apps, who had hoped for a decisive victory. Despite the loss, Apps remains optimistic, emphasizing the importance of the upcoming home matches in Toronto and Ottawa, which will mark the first time Canada has hosted England since the 2025 Rugby World Cup warm-up match.
The matches, part of the "Rugby Rematch Tour," aim to provide Canada with more confidence and home advantage as they prepare for potential victory.
