Ajayi-Femi: Kosofe deserves representation measured by results, not visibility

Engr. Ekundayo Ajayi-Femi, the House of Representatives candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency, has argued that political representation should be evaluated by concrete results and responsiveness to residents, rather than just visibility, speeches, or campaign appearances. A civil engineer, real estate developer, and entrepreneur, Ajayi-Femi is running for the 2027 general election.

He explained that his transition from the private sector to public service was motivated by his desire to leverage his engineering, construction, and business experience to tackle development challenges within Kosofe.

Drawing on his professional background, Ajayi-Femi emphasized that engineering teaches problem-solving within practical constraints and proper planning. He believes Kosofe has significant human and economic potential but continues to grapple with issues such as infrastructure, employment, education, healthcare, and opportunities.

To address these challenges, his campaign focuses on infrastructure and sustainable development, youth and women empowerment, education and human capital development, economic opportunities, and improved healthcare access.

Ajayi-Femi stressed that discussions about youth unemployment should move beyond empty promises to address practical pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. For women, he highlighted the importance of skills development, entrepreneurship, employment opportunities, and broader access to economic prospects. He also stressed the need for education to align more closely with economic demands, emphasizing practical learning, vocational training, digital skills, and entrepreneurial spirit.

He believes a federal lawmaker can advocate for stronger healthcare interventions through legislation, budget engagement, and oversight.

Ajayi-Femi aims to forge a stronger connection between elected representatives and their constituents, ensuring that the relationship is active throughout the term, not just leading up to the next election. He dismissed the notion that leadership experience can only be acquired through previous government positions, asserting that his years managing projects and leading teams have equipped him with relevant skills for public service.

Ajayi-Femi approaches public service with humility, acknowledging that leadership requires listening, collaboration, and building partnerships. He is guided by principles of possibility, competence, and service, with accountability being a cornerstone of his approach. Ajayi-Femi expressed his ambition to contribute to unlocking Kosofe's potential through purposeful, accountable, and people-centered representation.
