2027 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in Week 7

Week 7 of the NFL Draft features several key matchups and prospects to watch. The main clash will be Indiana left tackle Carter Smith facing Ohio State edge rusher Kenyatta Jackson Jr. Jackson's length should give him an advantage over Smith's lack thereof, though Smith's toughness should prevent him from being overwhelmed. Indiana's wide receiver duo of Nick Marsh and Charlie Becker have both shown promise early in the season.

Marsh was particularly outstanding in a close win against Nebraska last week. The Ohio State secondary, featuring star safety Jaylen McClain and cornerback Jermain Mathews Jr., will provide a challenge for both receivers.

Notre Dame is set to face an undefeated Brigham Young on the road. The Irish's quarterback, Julian Sayin, is productive, but his physical projection to the NFL remains uncertain. Receiver Jordan Faison, who dominated against North Carolina, will be a key target for Notre Dame. Linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, who missed Stanford's game due to an ACL injury, is expected to return this week. Guards Anthonie Knapp and Boubacar Traore, both top 50 candidates, are also worth watching.

Texas Tech hosts Arizona State, with cornerback Brice Pollock and receivers Reed Harris and Omarion Miller key players to watch. Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman, who lost the starting job at A&M, is now playing well for Houston and has just one interception this season. He could be a valuable watch as Houston takes on Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State's Drew Mestemaker, who has been pushed up the mock draft rankings, will face Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons' road test in an unfamiliar environment.
