The 2026 Ballon d’Or award ceremony is set to take place in London later this month, with the winner to be announced on October 26. France Football, the organisers of the prestigious award, have clarified that the 2026 Ballon d’Or will assess performances only from August 3, 2025, to July 19, 2026, including international competitions.
This means that the start of the 2026 season will not be counted in the award's evaluation, as every goal, assist, and match-winning display since the new campaign began will count for nothing. Thirty players, including Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, have been nominated for the award.
