Violent Kota Damansara thunderstorm: Viral clip shows wind lifting car at toll plaza (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — A shocking video capturing a violent storm lifting a car and tossing it into another near a toll plaza in Kota Damansara has gone viral online. The footage, shared around 6:30pm yesterday, depicts what witnesses described as a waterspout or sudden whirlwind impacting drivers in the rain-soaked toll lanes, accompanied by thunderous rain and fierce gusts.

In the clip, the potent vortex raises the rear portion of a stationary vehicle halted for the toll barrier, forcefully ramming it into a nearby car. Both automobiles suffered slight body damage in the collision. Reports later revealed that neither driver nor passengers sustained any injuries. The storm hit during a severe evening downpour affecting multiple areas of Selangor and the Klang Valley, leading to gridlock on the roads during rush hour.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) had previously issued a regional thunderstorm warning, predicting heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds throughout several states on the peninsula as rush hour approached.
