Time, confidence key to B.C. Lions’ turnaround
A shaky start to the CFL season didn't dim the B.C. Lions' big aspirations.
SURREY – The B.C. Lions, despite a shaky start to the CFL season, have shown great potential this year, according to defensive lineman Casey Sayles. The team's confidence lies in their belief that they can achieve great things this season, according to Sayles. The Lions have won nine of their last 10 games, including a recent decisive 41-20 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks, which secured their spot in the playoffs.
Canadian receiver Jevon Cottoy attributes the team's success to their commitment to the process laid out in training camp by head coach Buck Pierce, even when facing losses. With two games remaining in the regular season, Pierce remains optimistic that the Lions can leapfrog the Edmonton Elks and take first place in the CFL's West Division.
