Telefónica se alía con Revolut en Alemania para telefonía móvil

Deutsche Telekom has teamed up with digital neobank Revolut in Germany to offer mobile phone services to over three million of Revolut's customers. Telefónica Deutschland, the company's German subsidiary, has signed a deal with Revolut, a rapidly growing digital financial institution, to use its network to launch a new mobile telecommunications service called Revolut Mobile for the bank's existing customer base.

The agreement also involves 1GLOBAL, a major distributor of services for virtual operators, known as an enabler. This partnership represents the next stage in the development of the mobile communications market through alliances with digital companies, which are increasingly leveraging their reach and customer relationships to offer additional services.

Telefónica Deutschland highlights that mobile communications are evolving from independent products to integrated components of digital platforms. Telefónica Deutschland provides its network infrastructure and industry expertise to facilitate these offerings. Revolut makes its Revolut Mobile plan available to its over three million customers in Germany.

The plan can be canceled monthly and costs €14.99 per month. It includes 120 gigabytes of high-speed data, unlimited data at speeds up to 2 Mbps, unlimited calls and text messages within Germany, and data speeds of up to 100 Mbps through Deutsche Telekom's mobile network. Customers can activate the plan directly from the Revolut app on their mobile phones.

The offering also includes 40 gigabytes of roaming data within the European Union, number portability, an integrated eSIM solution, and other digital services. Telefónica Deutschland's CEO, Jürg Kablitz, stated that "Our partnership with Revolut and 1GLOBAL marks a new milestone in Germany's mobile communications market. It demonstrates how the wholesale business is evolving from traditional alliances to a platform economy, enabling greater growth.
