Six Kings Slam tournament in Saudi Arabia featuring Alcaraz and Djokovic postponed due to attacks on Riyadh

The Six Kings tennis tournament, featuring stars such as Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev, has been postponed in Saudi Arabia due to attacks on the capital, Riyadh. Initially set to take place from October 21-24 at the ANB Arena, around 30km from the King Khalid International Airport, the event has been rescheduled to December 27-30.

Other players who were to compete included Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, and Learner Tien. Organizers cited the need to deliver sporting events at the highest standards following the assessment of logistical challenges. The tournament, in its third edition and offering £1.2 million per player with an additional £3.5 million for the winner, was last won by Jannik Sinner, who had previously beaten Alcaraz in the final.

The decision to postpone the tournament coincides with three Saudi Pro League fixtures being delayed due to "logistical considerations" following incidents involving Al Hilal, Nassr, and Jeddah teams Ahli and Al Ittihad in the AFC Champions League. Additionally, the Asian Tour's Saudi International, set to take place in Riyadh from November 18-21, is under monitoring due to ongoing security concerns.
