Will McWard, a senior swimmer at Seminole High School, delivered a powerful performance as the anchor leg in the final 400-yard freestyle relay race of last week's Seminole Athletic Conference championship meet. The Seminoles were in a tight race with Oviedo, sitting just one point ahead in the competition for the team title. With both teams having completed their first three swimmers' legs, McWard dove into the water to swim the final 100-yard stretch.
His dominant 46.29-second leg secured a 3.8-second victory for Seminole, giving the school a 930-point total compared to Oviedo's 923, Lake Mary's 595, and Lake Brantley's 517.
