Ouaddou hails rising Pirates star Masilela after Galaxy win
Ouaddou says Masilela is one of the best talents he has ever seen during his coaching career.
Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou commended Simphiwe Masilela following the young midfielder's first goal for the club in a 3-0 victory against TS Galaxy. The goal, scored during a match at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday evening, helped the Buccaneers maintain pressure on Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the Betway Premiership standings.
Praising Masilela's technical skills and ability to play between the lines, Ouaddou described him as one of the best talents he has encountered in his coaching career. The experienced coach, who has worked in France's Michel Platini's academy, advised Masilela to avoid unnecessary "circus" stunts. Despite the encouragement, Ouaddou acknowledged that Masilela may choose to treat the match as a circus, in which case it would be his decision.
The coach expressed satisfaction with Masilela's performance, noting his quality as a player who can play between the lines, dribble, and eliminate opponents. He emphasized that modern football demands gifted players like Masilela to embrace vertical play and find the net, and that he has no problem with showboating as long as the player scores goals to progress. Ouaddou concluded by expressing his happiness for Masilela and his family, and his hope that the young midfielder would continue to work towards success.
