Nungua Traditional Stool, WT Plastics partner to establish factory, create 1,400 jobs

The Nungua Traditional Stool Authority and WT Plastics have collaborated to construct a plastics manufacturing factory at Borteyman, near the Accra-Tema Motorway. This endeavor is anticipated to generate 400 direct jobs and over 1,000 indirect positions, promoting industrial expansion and employment opportunities for the youth in Nungua and adjacent communities.

During a ground-breaking ceremony, Chief Sangonaa of Nungua, Nii Sango, declared that the factory will be constructed on land owned by the Nungua Traditional Stool Authority, utilizing Borteyman's central location along the Accra-Tema Motorway to ensure smooth operations and economic growth. He emphasized that this project is a crucial step towards addressing youth unemployment through industrialization, as it will provide young people with meaningful employment opportunities, technical skills, and sustainable livelihoods.

Additionally, more than 1,000 indirect jobs are expected from the project, benefiting various businesses in the local economy. The partnership aims to deliver tangible economic benefits to the community, moving beyond mere promises. WT Plastics will supply its manufacturing expertise and technical know-how, while the Nungua Traditional Stool Authority will provide the land for development.

The authority hopes that this project will transform Borteyman into an emerging industrial hub along the Accra-Tema Motorway, fostering economic growth and job creation within Nungua and surrounding areas.
