Sonnet has introduced an updated Thunderbolt 5 expansion lineup called the Echo III T5, which provides Mac mini, Mac Studio, and MacBook Pro users the ability to connect up to three full-size PCIe cards. These specialized hardware components can be used for audio recording, video capture, networking, and storage without the need for replacing the computer.
The Echo III T5 family supports up to three full-height, full-length single-width PCIe cards or one double-width card alongside a single-width card, and is compatible with computers equipped with Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 ports. The systems utilize a modular design and include a 400W power supply with a 75W auxiliary connector for hardware that needs additional power, along with two temperature-controlled Noctua fans rated at 17 dBA. The Echo III T5 Module costs $1,099.99 and is available at B&H.
