Miss South Africa 2026 finalist Makhosazana Masango champions education access

Miss South Africa 2026 finalist Makhosazana Masango is using her platform to champion education access for young people, particularly those from under-resourced communities. The 25-year-old, who is pursuing an LLB through UNISA, has experienced the challenges of under-resourced schools firsthand through her work at Phuzulwazi Secondary School in KwaZulu-Natal.

Masango's advocacy is centered around improving learning conditions, access to quality facilities, and reducing the digital divide faced by learners. She credits her music career and involvement in school choirs for developing leadership skills and confidence, which she now shares with learners through a choir program at her school.

Masango's efforts aim to inspire hope and positive change, encouraging learners to carry themselves with pride and recognize the importance of well-rounded development beyond academic achievements.
