Lisandro Martinez: Wayne Rooney delivers verdict on Man United star’s explosive interview

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has harshly criticized Lisandro Martinez for an explosive interview following the team's 2-0 Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid. United conceded the first goal in the opening minute at the Metropolitano Stadium, and Leny Yoro was sent off in the 74th minute. Ademola Lookman scored two goals for Atletico, putting the game beyond doubt.

Martinez appeared to blame technical director Jason Wilcox for not strengthening the squad over the summer, despite the club spending over £150 million in the midfield. Rooney argued that Martinez's comments should have been made privately and that the club is already in a difficult position with just one win in six games. Ashley Young, another ex-United player, echoed Rooney's sentiment, stating that the club cannot simply bring in a new team and that it takes time to improve. Both emphasized that the players need to take responsibility and perform better on the pitch.
