Kansas State Football: Depth Chart Review – Houston – Defense
Kansas State’s defensive front was dominated by the Houston. It’s hard for anyone to do their job when the defensive front doesn’t hold up.
Houston's defense dominated Kansas State in the line of scrimmage, controlling the flow of the game. The Tigers struggled to stop Houston's running game, allowing them 43 carries for 233 yards and zero sacks. The Cougars ran for 13 first downs, accumulating 13 first downs and only seeing one run over 15 yards. With limited success on defense, Kansas State's offense faltered, failing to maintain possession of the ball.
The defensive line, led by Wendell Gregory, Jordan Allen, Darien Whitaker Jr., and the rest of the unit, failed to make an impact on the field. The Wildcats' offensive adjustments, such as moving Eli Jackson into the starting lineup, provided some relief, but the overall performance was lacking.
