Google is selling Pixel and Samsung phones inside the Play Store
Google really wants you to buy hardware from the Play Store.
The author discovered an affordable alternative to Samsung DeX for their Pixel 8 device. They explained that being resourceful and committed to DIY projects, they turned their Pixel into a portable workstation. They utilized two apps, Dextop and Bluke, to achieve this. Dextop provided a landscape workspace with a Windows-style taskbar, system tray, and app drawer button that opens an alphabetical app grid.
Bluke served as a 3-in-1 keyboard and trackpad when the author's old PC's input methods were damaged. Despite not offering flawless window resizing on smartphones, the setup proved useful for various tasks such as photo editing, video editing, and even gaming. The author emphasized that connecting accessories like a wireless mouse and Bluetooth keyboard enhanced the experience, making it more reliable and comfortable.
