On October 14, social media influencer and YouTuber Dhruv Rathee asserted on Instagram that officers from the Delhi Police and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) had been tailing him. In a video posted to his account, Rathee pointed out multiple vehicles following his own car as he drove, claiming the surveillance had continued for some time. He addressed individuals in one of the vehicles, referring to them by name and questioning their actions.
Rathee appeared to suggest that he was attempting to determine the extent of the alleged surveillance by taking a U-turn and observing if the vehicles pursued him further. He jokingly addressed the cameras, saying, "Smile, Delhi Police. You are on camera." However, the precise location of the incident was not disclosed by Rathee.
The Intelligence Bureau is India's primary internal security and domestic intelligence agency, operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Its role is to gather intelligence related to internal security threats. Still, the specific claim made by Rathee, including the identity of the vehicles and the number of individuals following him, could not be independently verified.
