Nigerian singer Davido's statement that he would never support the All Progressives Congress, APC, has gained renewed attention following the appointment of his uncle as a key figure in Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election campaign. Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke was recently named coordinator of President Tinubu's presidential campaign in the state.
This development has sparked mixed reactions across social media, with some questioning Adeleke's decision to align with Tinubu's campaign despite the political opposition between their respective parties during the 2026 Osun governorship election. Reactions have ranged from disappointment from Davido's fans to criticism over the appointment's timing, given Adeleke's previous commitment to democracy and the defeat of Tinubu's party in the governorship race.
