Zuffa Boxing Signs Carlos Adames, Controls Middleweight Division
Three of the world's four middleweight champions now fight for Zuffa Boxing.
Zuffa Boxing has acquired Carlos Adames, the WBC World Middleweight Champion from the Dominican Republic. Ring Magazine rates Adames as the top middleweight globally. The promoter recently signed three middleweight world champions. Adames is set to debut for Zuffa in the near future. Adames, a 32-year-old with an undefeated record of 25 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw in 27 fights, moved up to middleweight in 2021.
He has won all seven of his middleweight bouts since then. He has defended his title three times, including a close draw against Hamzah Sheeraz and a decision win over Austin "Ammo" Williams. Adames has also knocked out former unified world champion Julian Williams and won multiple titles at the amateur level. Zuffa Boxing now controls three of the four world middleweight champions alongside Aaron McKenna (IBF World Middleweight champion) and Denzel Bentley (WBO Interim World Middleweight champion).
