League Championship Series Day Three Game Thread
Just one game today
Game three of the ALCS between the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays is set to take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers have dropped both games of their series, leaving the Guardians in a strong position after winning the first game in Tampa Bay.
The Guardians, managed by Stephen Vogt, are looking to end a 78-year championship drought, making them the underdogs in this matchup. They will be relying on rookie right-hander Parker Messick, who has had a remarkable season, with a 2.56 ERA, to secure the win against the experienced Rays.
The Rays, looking to avoid a 0-2 hole in their series, will depend on veteran right-hander Freddy Peralta, who has been solid throughout the postseason. Cleveland's Messick will be looking to build on his impressive season performance to help his team advance in the postseason.
