The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a suspected counterfeit production facility in Lagos, where two men were arrested for revalidating expired drinks, including popular brands like Bullet Energy Drink and Jameson whiskey. The facility, located at Zamfara Plaza, BBA Trade Fair Complex, was found to be producing and distributing fake alcoholic beverages worth an estimated N300 million.
The agency seized various bottles, chemicals, and packaging materials around the facility, and the operatives stated that the suspects operated by liaising with bar managers and selling the counterfeit drinks to nightclubs.
