The Baja 1000, the world's longest-running and most legendary off-road race, will feature a historic "Cabo to Cabo" routing in its 59th edition this November. This marks the first time the race will start in Los Cabos, specifically at Avenida Centenario in San José del Cabo, and finish there as well. The 964.66-mile competition, sponsored by BF Goodrich Tires, will run entirely within the state of Baja California Sur.
An estimated 250 teams representing 15 countries are expected to participate in the race, which will take place from November 9 to 15. Teams compete across several classes, including trucks, cars, buggies, motorcycles, quads and UTVs, vying for cash prizes and points in the SCORE World Desert Championship, the Baja 1000's season finale.
The race, which has no set route, has been held 49 times in Ensenada and 31 times in La Paz, both cities being popular termini. However, the "Cabo to Cabo" route in 2026 will offer a new and innovative challenge, winding through the heart of Baja California Sur, passing through La Paz, Loreto, Todos Santos and El Pescadero before returning to San José del Cabo. This route will include four of the five municipalities in Baja California Sur - Comondú, La Paz, Loreto and Los Cabos.
