Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South East Development Commission (SEDC), has emphasized that the commission must function from the South-east region rather than from Abuja. At a recent oversight visit to the commission's headquarters in Enugu State, Kalu expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the commission since their previous meetings.
He urged the management to continue this positive momentum and extend the commission's initiatives to various communities within the South-east. Kalu also expressed optimism about the commission's operations, noting that the resolution of previous disagreements regarding its location in Enugu has led to significant improvements.
The lawmakers plan to return to Enugu in December to further evaluate the progress and review the commission's operations.
