Eighty-eight entrepreneurs have successfully completed the MTN Mini MBA programme, a six-month initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana. The graduates, part of the SME Accelerate programme, which began with 90 participants, now possess practical business knowledge, leadership skills, and valuable networks to help scale their businesses.
Angela Mensah-Poku, MTN Ghana's Chief Enterprise Officer and Executive Committee Member, presented the certification certificates at the graduation ceremony. She emphasized that SMEs are the backbone of Ghana's economy but face numerous challenges, such as evolving customer expectations, heightened competition, digital disruption, and economic pressures. To address these issues, MTN Business went beyond connectivity and introduced the SME Accelerate programme to build business capacity.
Prof. Matthew Tsamenyi, CEO of Nova Business School Africa, hailed the graduates as the future of Ghana and Africa's economy. He commended MTN Business for co-creating the programme and thanked the leadership of MTN Ghana for their dedication throughout the six-month journey, including their involvement in capstone projects. Prof. Tsamenyi stressed the importance of the private sector in driving national development, stating that entrepreneurs must be at the forefront of the economy.
He assured the Class of 2026 that both Nova Business School Africa and MTN Business would continue to support their businesses, transforming them into growth drivers for the Ghanaian economy.
