Tuanku Muhriz tak perlu jemputan ke mesyuarat Majlis Raja-Raja

The State of Negeri Sembilan's Istana has clarified that Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir does not require an invitation to attend the Majlis Raja-Raja (Council of Rulers) meeting, following reports from the media. Deputy Regent, Azizi Mohamad Ali, stated that Tuanku Muhriz did not receive any invitation or summons from Sultan Nazrin Shah, the presiding officer of the meeting, to attend the pre-Majlis Raja-Raja.

Consequently, Tuanku Muhriz has decided to refrain from attending the Majlis Raja-Raja, which is scheduled to commence tomorrow until October 15. The Sultan will instead focus on the matters of the state, particularly the Istiadat Menzahirkan Kejadian Undang Luak Jelebu. The Istana Negeri Sembilan also emphasized that they have never issued any media statement regarding this issue to any media outlet or organization before.

Today, The Straits Times reported that Sultan Nazrin had invited Tuanku Muhriz to attend the meeting, but it was clarified that he will only attend the pre-Majlis Raja-Raja. This development is seen as a recognition of Tuanku Muhriz's status as the rightful Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan amidst the ongoing crisis in the state's royal institution since April.

The crisis erupted when four individuals claiming to be Undang announced the removal of Tuanku Muhriz before his nephew, Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja afar, was sworn in as the new government on June. However, the Attorney-General's Chambers and the Legal and Undang Council (DKU) had previously stated that the action taken did not have any legal effect, and Tuanku Muhriz remained the rightful Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
