Heavy rain triggers flash floods in Kepala Batas

Kepala Batas experienced flash floods due to heavy rain this morning, causing water to inundate homes and disrupt residents. Affected areas included Penaga, Permatang Bertam, Permatang Bogak, Taman Abdullah Fahim, Bertam and Pajak Song. Floodwaters reached knee level in homes, including the residence of cook Mohamad Nur Irfan Aziz, 36.

Irfan noted that the water level this time was higher than in a similar incident two weeks ago, indicating a recurring issue. He attributed the problem to an inadequate drainage system along the road, which could not effectively channel rainwater. Despite reporting the issue to authorities, no action was taken to resolve the problem.

Irfan expressed his anxiety about recurring heavy rains and urged authorities to address the drainage issue to prevent further flooding.
