‘Papa, save me’: Shekhar Suman recalls son Aayush’s tragic final moments before death at 11

Revered actor Shekhar Suman recently reflected on the heartbreaking period in his life when his eldest son, Aayush, was diagnosed with a terminal illness and ultimately passed away at the young age of 11. During a conversation with The Lallantop, Shekhar recounted the immense struggle he faced as he juggled his career in television while dealing with the devastating news of his son’s prognosis.

He shared that initially, he had no work and was financially strained, which only added to his anguish. Despite his reluctance, Shekhar took on a television role to make ends meet, despite being uninterested in the genre. He also noted that his wife, Alka Suman, eventually begged the doctors to let Aayush pass away, as his condition had deteriorated to the point of unbearable suffering.

Shekhar expressed that he still grapples with the loss and finds solace in honoring his son’s memory by constantly remembering and speaking of him.
