MRS, a Nigerian refining company, and other filling stations have raised the retail price of Premium Motor Spirit, or petrol, at their outlets in Abuja. The new price is N1,410 per litre, up from N1,400. Ranoil and AA Rano also increased petrol prices by N10 per litre to N1,410 across their stations. This comes as the Federal Government proposed a discount to N1,350 per litre at National Petroleum Company Limited filling stations.
Fuel retailers and marketers have pushed for the discount to be extended to more stations. Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude prices were $104 and $91 per barrel, respectively.
