General : Rantau Panjang MP Siti Zailah Injured In Kuala Lipis Road Accident
KUANTAN, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- Rantau Panjang MP Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff sustained injuries to her chest and abdomen in an accident at Kilometre 7 of the Central Spine Road (LTU) in Kechau Tui, Kuala Lipis, yesterday evening.
On Sunday at around 6:00 pm, a single-vehicle accident involving an SUV carrying Rantau Panjang Member of Parliament Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff resulted in her sustaining chest and abdominal injuries. The vehicle was en route from Gua Musang, Kelantan, to Kuala Lumpur for work-related purposes.
The police report, provided by Lipis District Police Chief Superintendent Ismail Man, stated that the vehicle was driven by the victim's 26-year-old daughter at the time of the incident. Upon reaching Kilometre 7 of the Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) highway in Kechau Tui, it is believed the driver lost control of the SUV, causing it to spin and crash into the road barrier on the right side. The driver was not injured in the accident.
Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff, the injured MP, was promptly taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital for further medical attention. Chief Superintendent Ismail added that the investigation is being conducted under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. He urged the public or any witnesses to provide information to aid the ongoing investigation.
