Shatta Wale reveals he has earned $45,000 from TikTok livestream gifts

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has disclosed that he has earned about $45,000 from gifts received during his TikTok livestreams, highlighting social media as an additional source of income for musicians. He made the revelation during an appearance on rapper YPee’s podcast, The Real Ones, where he spoke about how he transitioned from Facebook Live to TikTok.

Shatta Wale said he was initially reluctant to join the platform because he viewed it as a space largely dominated by Generation Z users. He credited Ghanaian content creator Jackline Mensah for repeatedly encouraging him to try TikTok Live after he had been engaging fans through Facebook Live.
