Kent State score at Western Michigan. Broncos pull away from Golden Flashes

Western Michigan dominated a Mid-American Conference game with a 38-7 victory over Kent State on Saturday, Oct. 10. The Broncos piled up an impressive 466 yards, averaging 7.1 yards per play. Sophomore wide receiver Wayne Harris had a standout performance, catching 11 passes for 164 yards. Despite trailing 14-7 in the second quarter, Kent State's Dru DeShields threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Brendyn Smith.

However, Broc Lowry's 28-yard touchdown pass to Baylin Brooks with 33 seconds left in the half immediately shifted the momentum in Western Michigan's favor. The Broncos then outscored Kent State 17-0 in the second half, sealing the win. Quarterback DeShields completed 19-of-35 passes for 223 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but was also sacked five times and lost five yards on ten carries.

Mason King led the Golden Flashes with 36 yards on 13 carries. Lowry completed 18-of-26 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Running back Jalen Buckley contributed 105 yards on 18 carries for Western Michigan. Kent State will travel to Tampa, Fla., to face South Florida on Oct. 17.
