Fasa 1 PLSB Sg Golok siap Julai 2027

The Sungai Golok Sustainable Development (PLSB) Project Phase 1 has reached 73.01% physical completion and is expected to be fully completed by July 2027, according to the Ministry of Energy, Water and Transformation (Petra). The project includes the construction of flood protection embankments along Sungai Golok, Sungai Lemal Lanchang and Sungai Mentua, as well as five control houses, Pasukan Gerakan Am (PGA) gates, and a water supply system.

Phase 2, which covers the construction of a two-purpose flood protection and safety wall, upgrading the left bank of Sungai Lemal Lanchang, construction of storage houses and military and PGA control posts, is currently at 3.16% physical completion and is targeted for completion in October 2028. Phase 3, focusing on raising the level of six sectors including Sungai Pengkalan Nangka, Sungai Meranti, Alor Mengkuang, Sungai Lanas, Sungai Golok and Lake To Uban, has reached 24.18% physical completion and is scheduled for completion in April 2029.

The project timeline and budget have been adjusted due to factors such as climate change, infrastructure needs, on-site conditions, and local community demands. These adjustments include changes in land acquisition, project scope and engineering design, and water diversion system capacity. Petra emphasized that the adjustments are in line with Malaysia Madani's principles of light governance, responsibility, safety and people's well-being.

Regular close collaboration between the federal government through Petra and JPS, and the state government of Kelantan, continues to ensure efficient and customized project management.
