Tinubu to inaugurate APC campaign council October 14

President Bola Tinubu is set to officially launch the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council on October 14, in the run-up to the 2027 general elections. Key figures from the party, including former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, and Dr. Betta Edu, are expected to take on significant roles in the inauguration. The event will be held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The APC Presidential Campaign Council's Director-General, Yari, revealed these details following a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa on Friday. He also confirmed that the President has approved the campaign timetable. The inaugural activities are expected to begin with a rally in Kaduna on October 24, followed by engagements in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

Prior to the formal inauguration, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been working alongside Dr. Betta Edu, the Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, and other members of the team, to mobilise women nationwide. Their objective is to secure 40 million women voters for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket by engaging in community-level mobilisation across 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The inauguration is a crucial step in formalising the operations of the campaign council and aligning party leaders and stakeholders for coordinated activities leading up to the 2027 presidential election. The APC's preparations aim to strengthen its political structures and ensure effective mobilisation ahead of the general elections.
