‘SA derbies crucial for Lions,’ says scrum coach Redelinghuys ahead of Bulls battle
A good win over the Bulls at Loftus would set the Lions up nicely for a tough three game overseas tour over the rest of the month.
Lions' scrum coach Julian Redelinghuys emphasizes the importance of the upcoming SA derbies for his team as they prepare to face their local rivals, the Bulls, at Loftus Versfeld. The Lions aim to maintain their strong start to the URC season by securing victories in the first set of local derbies against defending champions Leinster and Ospreys.
Redelinghuys acknowledges the significance of these early games, stating that they set the tone for the remainder of the season. He highlights the return of Springbok loosehead prop Boan Venter, who has quickly integrated into the team and shown promise in the scrum. Venter's presence is expected to bolster the Lions' performance in the upcoming scrum battle against the Bulls, which could prove pivotal in the match.
