People’s Association to launch bite-sized AI courses for seniors and homemakers unfamiliar with tech

People’s Association to launch bite-sized AI courses for seniors and homemakers unfamiliar with tech

Residents in Singapore who lack familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) can now benefit from affordable, beginner-friendly courses offered at community clubs starting November 2026. The People's Association (PA) introduced the AI @ Your Neighbourhood program, designed to help seniors and homemakers understand, use, and safely employ AI tools for daily life.

Unlike typical AI courses catering to professionals, these courses target non-technical residents, aiming to foster confidence and responsible AI use. The PA has already curated 25 courses in collaboration with training providers, with more courses forthcoming to align with AI advancements and residents' evolving needs. Courses cover topics like digital life skills, photography, and AI-enhanced travel assistance.

The program will commence at a subsidized rate of S$7 per session, offering a 30% discount from November 2026 to October 2027. PA is partnering with AI Singapore, Micron Technology, and NTUC LearningHub to deliver workshops. PA Deputy Chairman Edwin Tong emphasized AI's role in enhancing resident interactions and reducing manual work for volunteers.

Additionally, the PA announced plans to introduce an AI Voice Assistant for onePA, a platform for discovering and booking community programs, and a PA Community Robot to assist residents in navigating services.
