People’s Association to launch bite-sized AI courses for seniors and homemakers unfamiliar with tech
The People's Association (PA) plans to launch bite-sized AI courses for seniors and homemakers who are unfamiliar with technology. Starting in November 2026, these affordable courses will be available at community clubs across Singapore at a discounted rate of S$7 per session, including a 30% discount from November 2026 to October 2027.
Unlike other AI courses that cater to working professionals, the PA's AI @ Your Neighbourhood courses will focus on beginners, covering topics such as everyday digital life skills, photography and photo enhancement, and using AI to simplify travel. PA has already curated 25 courses with training providers and will continue to introduce new ones as AI technology evolves and residents' needs change.
The initiative aims to reach 10,000 residents and help them understand AI, build confidence in using AI tools, and use it safely and responsibly. PA is also collaborating with AI Singapore, Micron Technology, and NTUC LearningHub to bring AI workshops to residents. Speaking at the organization's annual Community Seminar, PA Deputy Chairman Edwin Tong emphasized the potential of AI to streamline administrative tasks and allow grassroots leaders and volunteers to focus on nurturing human connections with residents.
