King confers Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara to El-Sisi

KUALA LUMPUR, October 10 — Sultan Ibrahim granted the Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara (DMN) honor to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who is on a two-day state visit to Malaysia. The award ceremony took place at Istana Negara, prior to a dinner to welcome El-Sisi, who touched down in the country yesterday. The special event featured the presence of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Defence Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan, Industry, Trade, and Investment Minister Johari Abdul Ghani, as well as dignitaries and an Egyptian delegation.

Upon his arrival at 10:08 AM, El-Sisi was greeted with a state welcome ceremony at Istana Negara parade square. It is noteworthy that El-Sisi is the first Egyptian president to visit Malaysia in nearly three decades, with the previous visit by former President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak occurring in November 1997, during which he attended the G-15 Summit. Malaysia and Egypt established diplomatic relations in 1959.
