Wales captain James has World Cup on her mind
Wales take on Albania over two legs in the semi-finals of the play-offs motivated by reaching a World Cup for the first time.
Angharad James, the captain of Wales, is preparing for her 146th cap against Albania on Friday. The Welsh team is aiming for their first Women's World Cup appearance, with a crucial play-off semi-final match ahead of them. James emphasizes that the World Cup is always on her mind during training and throughout their matches. Wales, led by Rhian Wilkinson, aim to secure a home advantage for the second leg in Parc y Scarlets.
A victory in Albania could lead to a play-off final against either Norway or Romania in December. However, even if they progress through both rounds, Wales might still face inter-confederation play-offs in February to secure their spot at the tournament in Brazil. James expresses her desire to represent Wales at the World Cup during every training session, vowing to do everything possible to help the team reach this goal.
The team has already qualified for Euro 2025, but they must navigate a challenging play-off route to reach their first World Cup.
