The University of Port Harcourt has issued a warning to the public about a fraudulent Facebook account that is falsely impersonating its Vice-Chancellor, Prof Princewill Chike. The institution emphasized that the Vice-Chancellor does not have an active Facebook profile and that the unauthorized account is being used by fraudsters to deceive individuals.
Dr Sam Kpenu, the Head of Information, Publications, and Public Relations at UNIPORT, made this announcement in a statement. The fake account has reportedly been contacting unsuspecting members of the public, urging them to respond, send money, or disclose personal information. The university has distanced itself from the account and any transactions conducted through it, urging the public to remain cautious and report the fake account to Facebook.
