Tinubu has assured rescue of abducted Borno children, says Zulum

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum assured President Bola Tinubu that the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services and National Security Adviser would soon rescue children abducted from Askira-Uba Local Government Area. Zulum met with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after discussing the security situation in the state.

The governor highlighted recent abductions in Askira-Uba, including those in Mussa and other communities, to Tinubu, who promised to take necessary measures for their rescue. Despite the abductions, Zulum reported that Borno's security had improved over the past six months to a year. He outlined plans to resettle communities, including Kareto, and reopen the Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu road, which had long been a major cause of congestion.

Zulum also announced the resumption of oil exploration activities in Borno, suspended for about a year or two due to logistical issues.
