Sundowns look to regain rhythm ahead of MTN8 final
Sundowns defender Grant Kekana says they have to get their approach right to dethrone Pirates
Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana believes the Brazilian team capitalized on the international break to their advantage while Sundowns were away for AFCON qualifiers in Uganda and Zimbabwe. Sundowns fielded 15 key players in the qualifiers, returning to face Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Kekana acknowledges the disruption caused by the international break, but insists it allowed the team to re-energize and plan effectively.
"We've used this break to do that," he says, explaining that those who stayed on duty showed the same desire and commitment. Despite Pirates' dominance in recent seasons, Kekana is confident Sundowns will have to focus on what they can control, such as their performance, rather than what they cannot control.
