Madhya Pradesh De-Empanels 72 Private Hospitals Under MP-ABN, 21 Get October 31 Deadline For NABH Certification Compliance

In Madhya Pradesh, 72 private hospitals have been removed from the list of those participating in the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) certification program under MP-ABN due to non-compliance. This leaves 21 hospitals with a deadline of October 31 to comply with NABH standards and remain de-empanelled.

Currently, there are 60 hospitals that have not met compliance even after making NABH certifications mandatory, with 27 of these located in Bhopal, 17 in Indore, nine in Gwalior, and seven in Jabalpur.

Three hospitals in Bhopal were de-empanelled after failing to submit documents regarding NABH certification, while another hospital was removed due to gross irregularities. Additionally, three hospitals were de-empanelled for other reasons, with two of them being from Bhopal and one from Indore, as they did not provide patient care under MP-ABN for the past six months.

Following discussions between private hospital directors and the government, 21 hospitals have been granted until October 31 to comply with NABH certification requirements and remain de-empanelled. Among these, 10 hospitals are from Bhopal, eight from Gwalior, and three from Indore. The state of Madhya Pradesh has a total of 1,953 government and private hospitals providing treatment under MP-ABN, out of which 813 are private hospitals. In the four major cities of Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior, there are 423 private hospitals.
