Jose Mourinho is returning to Real Madrid after a 13-year absence, aiming to build upon his first stint with the Spanish club. Despite not winning any major titles in his last two seasons, Mourinho seems optimistic about his second chapter at Los Blancos. However, he faces significant challenges following recent disappointing losses to Real Betis and Atletico Madrid.
Mourinho expressed surprise at Real Madrid's approach, noting that the club contacted him before any concrete agreement was reached. He had been content at Benfica and only considered leaving upon hearing the commotion surrounding his potential return. Mourinho also addressed the ongoing Negreira case, which occurred during his first tenure at Real Madrid.
He reflected on this turbulent period and likened it to similar situations he faced in Turkey following major scandals. Mourinho praised Carlo Ancelotti, acknowledging his great leadership style, while expressing frustration at constantly seeing pictures of Ancelotti throughout the club.
