Guardians’ Gavin Williams to start vs. White Sox’s Sean Burke in winner-take-all ALDS Game 5

Cleveland Guardians' Gavin Williams will take the mound for the winner-take-all Game 5 of their AL Division Series against the Chicago White Sox, set to begin Saturday night. After pitching the ninth inning on Thursday, Williams will start in place of Sean Burke. Williams, the Guardians' ace, made his first relief appearance in the majors on Thursday after reliever Cade Smith struggled in the ninth.

He struck out 11 in five-plus innings during Monday's Game 2 loss and has a 3.76 ERA this postseason. Burke, the White Sox's starter, has a 1.19 ERA and will make his fifth appearance in the series, having previously won three of those games.
