Andoni Iraola confirms latest on Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo ahead of Liverpool vs Man City

Andoni Iraola has revealed that Liverpool will be without two key players ahead of their crucial match against Manchester City. Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo, both injured during the international break, will not be available for Sunday's clash. The Liverpool manager explained on his pre-match press conference: "Alex Isak and Cody Gakpo will not play the game.

They are not ready." Both injuries have occurred previously in their careers, with Gakpo suffering a bad tackle that aggravated his ankle injury. Isak, on the other hand, is dealing with a thigh injury, although he assures this is a minor issue. The absence of Isak and Gakpo further compounds Liverpool's attacking woes, as they already struggle with injuries to Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa.

The Spaniard now has only Bradley Barcola, Victor Munoz, Rio Ngumoha and Lewis Koumas to choose from in attack. Iraola praised Koumas, stating that he trusts him and feels confident in his readiness to step into the striker role. He acknowledged that they have other options for different positions but will wait to see how things unfold.
