Anambra Attorney General probes police, court bailiffs’ clash

The Anambra State Attorney General, Tobechukwu Nweke, has appointed a committee to investigate a physical altercation between police officers and court bailiffs during the enforcement of a court order. The incident gained widespread attention after a video surfaced on social media, depicting officers from the B Division attempting to arrest a court bailiff carrying out a judgment.

The footage sparked controversy and elicited both supportive and critical reactions from the public. In response to the viral video and alleged statements made by some court bailiffs against the involved police officer, the Minister of Justice received multiple complaints. Consequently, the Attorney General ordered the formation of a Fact Finding Committee to examine the details of the incident and submit a comprehensive report to the Attorney General.

The committee's mandate includes conducting a thorough investigation and submitting its findings to the Attorney General. The public is advised to remain patient and maintain composure until the investigation is completed.
