‘The Altruists’ Trailer: Anthony Boyle and Julia Garner Star as Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison in Netflix Drama Series

Netflix has unveiled its first trailer for the upcoming series "The Altruists," a dramatization of the FTX fraud scandal and its key figures Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison. The eight-episode show, set to air on November 19, stars Anthony Boyle as Bankman-Fried and Julia Garner as Ellison.

According to creator Graham Moore, the series depicts how the couple, driven by good intentions, led themselves and others to commit numerous serious offenses. Ellison, who pleaded guilty to conspiring with Bankman-Fried, served approximately 11 months in prison before recently taking a position at Manifund, a grantmaking platform.

On the other hand, Bankman-Fried received a 25-year prison sentence after being found guilty of seven counts of fraud and conspiracy in a 2024 trial. He is currently incarcerated at a low-security federal prison in California and is projected to be released on Christmas Day in 2043.
