Prudential Singapore launches multi-generational protection plan to help caregivers manage families’ healthcare needs

SINGAPORE – Prudential Singapore has introduced PRUActive Family Care (PAFC), a multi-generational protection plan aimed at helping caregivers manage the healthcare needs of their families. The plan offers lifelong coverage for the caregiver's child, with protection against death, terminal illness and total and permanent disability.

It also includes critical illness add-ons for various conditions, including mental illness. Furthermore, PAFC provides the Parent Guard Benefit, which offers financial and income support for the caregiver's ageing parents up to age 100, without requiring medical underwriting. This plan addresses the growing need for caregiving support as Singapore's population ages, with the proportion of citizens aged 65 and above reaching 21.4% in 2026.

Mr Manu Tandon, Chief Health & Protection Officer of Prudential Singapore, notes that many caregivers in the "sandwiched generation" face financial and emotional stress while juggling their children's education, parents' healthcare needs, and their own retirement savings. The plan allows either the caregiver or their child to be the life assured, with the option to enhance the coverage up to five times through the Multiplier Benefit.

The Parent Guard Benefit offers diagnosis support, income support, accidental fracture hospital income, and family support benefits for eligible conditions.
