Budget 2027: PM Anwar hopes to strengthen economy, ease rakyat’s burden

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is anticipating that Budget 2027, set to be presented tomorrow, will fortify the nation's economy and mitigate the financial strain on citizens. In a recent post on X, the Prime Minister further expressed his optimism that the budget would generate additional possibilities and ensure a more equitable distribution of development benefits.

Prior to the budget's announcement, Anwar, who serves as both the Prime Minister and Finance Minister, toured the concluding preparations for the Fifth Madani Budget at the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya. He also conveyed his gratitude to the entire Ministry of Finance team for their diligent efforts in shaping the budget.

Yesterday, Anwar highlighted that the Fifth Madani Budget is built on a firm commitment to further bolster the national economy and ensure that economic growth leads to an enhanced quality of life for the populace. The Prime Minister is scheduled to unveil Budget 2027 at 3.30pm at the Dewan Rakyat.
