Zeekr 9X: Zeekr bringt seinen Luxus-SUV 9X auf den deutschen Markt

Zeekr, a Chinese automaker, is introducing its luxury SUV, the 9X, to the German market. This is the brand's fifth model, following the 001 crossover, X compact SUV, 7X midsize SUV, and 7GT five-door performance coupe. What sets Zeekr apart from other Chinese manufacturers is its strategy to target established premium and luxury brands such as BMW, Mercedes, and Audi in Germany, and Bentley and Range Rover in England.

The 9X aims to convince these customers with its convincing features. Priced from 119,900 euros, the Zeekr 9X is a five-meter-long luxury SUV that blends elements of BMW X7, Range Rover, and Rolls-Royce, particularly due to its large vertical radiator grille. The design, created in Gothenburg, Sweden, is instantly recognizable as a Zeekr without any brand emblem or inscription.

Technologically, Zeekr's 9X stands out with its unique "electric first" hybrid system, where the vehicle primarily runs on electric power, using a gasoline engine only as a range extender. The 55 kWh battery provides a range of approximately 180 kilometers, while the gasoline engine kicks in to generate power when needed, but only under normal driving conditions.

This setup allows the 9X to achieve a total range of 737 kilometers under normal driving conditions. With a power output of 660 kW/897 PS and 935 Newton meters of torque, the 9X can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. The high-speed capability is capped at 240 km/h. However, the focus is on comfort and luxury, with the Zeekr 9X offering spacious rear seats, a Naim sound system, and a large swiveling screen that transforms the rear space into a private cinema.

The interior materials are of the highest luxury level, with meticulous attention to detail. The cockpit is dominated by two large screens, with the right one extending towards the passenger seat. Potential customers in Germany may find it challenging to justify the purchase of a Zeekr 9X, especially compared to more affordable options like the Range Rover.

However, the vehicle aims to make a statement and signal prestige and status. Despite its high price, the Zeekr 9X represents a bold move by Geely, a powerful automotive conglomerate with a long-term vision.
